Carmunnock is the last remaining village situated within the Glasgow City Council area. It became a conservation village in 1970. The ancient settlement is associated with the early Christian missionary Saint Cadoc. It has a medieval street plan set within the lands of an estate held by the Stuarts of Castlemilk from 1700. There are many cottages in the village that date back to the 1600's. Our vibrant community is committed to preserving and developing village life for our 1880 residents. We do this through varied events and activities noted in our Community Calendar to enhance the life of all. Please explore our Youth, Community and Leisure sections to discover the wide array of opportunities to engage in village life. If you're a resident of Carmunnock, and would like to get involved, join in the conversation on Carmunnock Facebook.
